Introduction
Did you know that most people think abuse animals because they cant fight back?
This is stated by many websites, and most people believe it too. Its bad that
people do this to poor innocent animals, and we need to put an end to it. In this
article I will first explain my connection, second I will inform you on how you can
help, then I will share an Activist that helps stop, next I will share some facts, and
last I will share some statistics.

My Connection

thedog/catshelterinsteadofpresents.Iwasntverythrilledoftheideabecause
ofcoursealittlegirlwouldwantpresentson
herbirthday,butonceIdidit,itfeltgreat.
ShortlyaftermypartyIwenttotheanimal
shelterwithatonofbeds,food,treats,toys,
andmuchmore!Ialsogottogivesomeof
thetoystothedogsthatwereabandoned,itmademefeelgreat.Asaresultof
whatIdid,Igotaphotoalbumfilledwiththedogsandme.Nowonceandawhile
Istillgototheanimalshelterandseeifthedogshavebeenadoptedyet.

Anyonecansaveananimalormakeitslifebetterthanitis.Youcanhelpsaving
animalsbydoingsimplethingslike,droppingofffoodatyourlocalanimalshelter,
ifyouseeananimalonthestreetsyoucanbringittoananimalshelterforitto
betakencareofandmaybeevengettinganewhome,youshouldreport
wheneveryouseeananimalbeingabused,youcanevengetagrouptogether
andhelpeducatewhatpeopledotoanimals,fornoreasonsometimes.Asyou
cantellthereismanywaysyoucanhelpstopanimalabuse/abandonment,sogo

coordinatetheresponsetoaproblemthathasoccurredintheUS.Isabella
helpedtostopAnimalOverpopulationandtheamountofof
shelteranimalswhoareinGuilfordCounty.Shespendsmostof
herfreetimevolunteeringatherlocalsheltertohelptryingtofind
homesfortheanimalsthere,manyofwhomcamefromthePuppy
MillswhichareverycommoninNorthCarolina.PuppyMillsare
wheretheybreeddogs,overpopulatethemandtheyareall
crammedincratesontopofcrates.Isabellaevenadoptedtwoof
thefiveabusedshepherdbeaglemixpuppiesshefosteredlast
summer.Isabellasaid,Justbecausetheanimalsdontfightback,
doesntmeantheydontfeelpain.Thismeansthatanimalabuse
doeshurtthedogevenwhenyoudontrealizeitdoes.

Theshockingnumberofcrueltycasesreporteddailyontelevision,onthe
InternetandinnewspapersisonlythestartofhowbadAnimalAbuseis.Most
casesareneverreported,andmostanimalsufferinggoesunrecognized.Some
peoplethinkthatanimalabuseandabandonmentisnotabigdealbecausethe
animalscanttalkback,butsomethinkdifferent.Someanimalabusecasesare
causedbecauseofdomesticviolencebeing
takenoutontheanimal.Whenyouhearthe

Statistics

In200764.5%involveddogsgettingabused(25%ofthatispitbullorpitbulllike
dogs),18%werecats,and25%wasotheranimals.Thesestatisticsshowthat
notonlydogsareabusedthemostbutpitbullsaremorethanotherdogs.People
abusebiggerdogsmorebecausetheycanwinfightsandsmaller
dogscant.

Conclusion
Someday,Ihopethatpeoplerealizethatjustbecauseanimalscantfightbackit
doesntmeanthattheydontfeelpain.Untilthathappensmanyorganizationsare
goingtohelpstopanimalabuse.Iwillalsotrytodonateasmuchfood,bedsand
whatevertheanimalsneedtomylocalshelter,andyoushouldtoo!
