Effective Principles of Observation:

Wipe away preconceived notions before starting your observations.

Collect observations under different circumstances and from varied perspectives.

Take thorough notes, including quotes and details about the setting and atmosphere, and collect
important class documents.

Engage in active listening using a detached observer approach.

Keep systematic track of observations that surprise you or contradict your prior beliefs.

Pre-Class Notes (e.g., what are the teachers goals for the lesson? what are the demographics [e.g., student population,
class size, proficiency level] of the class?)
Sarah is out of town so I am going to teaching the class today, here is the information she wants me mentioened:
Here's what you can do on Monday:
At the beginning of class, take attendance. If anyone is absent or late, please note it so that I can add it to my attendance
records.
Spend five minutes or so reviewing the requirements of the introduction paragraph. Here are the instructions (from the
assignment sheet):

In your introduction, you need to introduce the current social attitude toward your chosen issue and then draw a compelling
contrast between the current and past attitudes. You will provide an overview of different influences in this attitude-shift and
then direct your readers' attention to one very compelling influence that you will focus on. In your thesis statement, you will
make an argument about the exact way and the extent to which your chosen influence affected society's overall attitude and
brought us from then to now.
Instruct the students to create a new Google document and then share it with you and me (shynes@asu.edu).
While they are writing, you can observe their progress in Google Drive. If someone appears to be stuck or in need of help,
then you could go talk to him or her and provide individual help.

I made an PPT for the lesson

Womens rights:
Normally "women's rights" refers to whether women have equality with the rights of men where
women and men's capacities are the same.
Sometimes, "women's rights" includes protection of women where women are subject to special
circumstances (such as maternity leave for child-bearing) or more susceptible to mistreatment
(traffic in women, rape).
