Igniting the spirit of leadership, volunteerism and camaraderie, the Tubigon East District spearheaded by the Cawayanan National High School conducted the synchronized Joint Encampment of BSP (Boy Scout of the Philippines) and GSP (Girl Scout of the Philippines) Campers last September 11-12, 2015 with the themes Peace and Development Through Scouting and Serve, Lead and Promote respectively. The focal points of the activity were Torch Parade, Campfire and the Nature Trekking/Challenge Valley that added the thrill in the activity. The clouds of excitement covered the sky as the simultaneous activity officially commenced late afternoon of September 11, 2015. It was started by setting the ground rules to follow throughout the camping and simple dinner preparation. Then, there was Torch Parade, Investiture Ceremony for new members, Campfire and Film Showing. The following day was the most nostalgic part of the camping as everyone excitedly participated in the Challenge Valley. It was a very tedious task, but we enjoined it so much. We truly feel the adventure, thrill and excitement as we trekked the river and mountains, said one of the campers. Everyone got tired and exhausted in the two-day activity, but as Jose Rizal put it to say as he wrote to Blumentritt, I am tired as a dog but I will sleep as a god. Indeed, the activity was an awesome experience! It was made successful by the unified efforts of the teachers, students, concerned parents, and above all, the Divine Providence who safeguard the campers and graced the activity with fine weather. Long Live Tubigon East District!
