Todayglobalwarmingisoneofthemostcontroversialanddebatabletopicsthereis.One
ofthebiggestfactorsthathavetakenatollonglobalwarmingishumans.Ofcourse,global
warmingisnaturallyinevitablebutitcandefinitelybesloweddownifweashumansrecognize
theissueandcontrolouruseofnonrenewableresourcesandscientificexperimentation.Many
arguethatclimatechangeandglobalwarmingareahoaxbutevidencehasprovenotherwise.For
instance,theburningofgreenhousegasessuchamethaneandcarbondioxidearebeingtrapped
intheatmospherefarmorethannormal,whilethesegaseskeepthetemperaturesofearthsuitable
enoughforlivingorganismslikeyouandItoliveheretheEarthisheatingupalotfasterthan
centuriesbefore.Forthesereasons,Ibelievethathumansarethemaincauseofglobalwarming
becausewecontinuouslyharmtheEarthwithchemicalsandscientificexperiments.

Evidenceassuringthathumansarethemaincauseofglobalwarmingismoreprominent
thanever.Researchconcludesthattheburningoffossilfuels,carbonbeingthemainsource,
resultsinexcessiveamountsofcarbondioxidetrappedintheatmospherewhereheatistrapped
andfurthermoreheatstheEarth.Theuseofcoalandoiltogenerateelectricityandautomobiles
releasecarbondioxidemoleculesintotheatmospherewhichimpactstheatmospherenegatively.

Scientistshaveconcludedthattheconcentrationofcarbondioxideintheatmospherehas
increaseddrasticallyfromthe16thcenturytonow.Ashocking280partspermillion(ppm)to
383ppmofcarbondioxidehavebeenreleasedintotheatmospherewhichonlyincreasesasthe
daysgoby.

Deforestationalsohasasevereeffectforglobalwarming.Itharmsecosystems,animals,
humans,andmostofalltheEarth.Humanscontinuecuttingdownforestsforlargerbuildings
andprojectsleavinganimalswithnohomeandcuttingdownoxygenproduction.Theamountof
carbondioxidedeforestationdisposesislargerthanthatofcarsandtruckscombined.Whentrees
andplantsarecutdowntheyreleasecarbonintotheatmospherewhichtheyuseasasourceof
energyforthemselves.About32millionacresoftropicalrainforestwerecutdownintheyears
20002009anditisincreasingeachyear.Itisestimatedthatthecontinuationofdeforestation
willreleasemorethan200billiontonsofcarbonintotheatmosphereresultinginfurther
temperatureincreasesintheEarth.

Someoftheworsteffectsofglobalwarmingaresealevelrise,temperaturerise,warming
ofoceans,meltingicesheets,andnaturaldisasters.Oneofthemostrecentnaturaldisastersisthe
Californiadrought,itisenteringitsfourthyearasadroughtwithnosightofwater.Thisdrought
hasaffectedpeopleandmostofalltheenvironment.Anotherexampleofglobalwarmings
effectistheincreaseinsealevel.Sealevelhasroseabove17centimetersinthelastcentury.As
aconsequenceofrisingsealevel,majorareasofSanFranciscocouldpotentiallybeunderwater
causinghavoceconomically,andenvironmentally.Alloftheseeffectsmustbetakeninto

consideration,ifdeforestationanddangerousgasemissionscontinuetowarmuptheglobemajor
citiessuchasSanFranciscowillresultunderwaterincenturiestocome.

Globalwarmingisoneofthemostdebatabletopicstoday,butsomethingbothsides
surroundingclimatechangecanagreeonisthattheclimateischangingrapidly.Forstarters,I
believethattheeffectgreenhousegasesarehavingontheatmosphereisduetohumanactivity.
Despiteofmyargumentsothersthinkthathumangeneratedgreenhouseemissionsaretoo
harmlessandtoosmalltohavesuchanimpactonEarthsclimate.Theybelievethattheresultof
globalwarmingisduetotheEarthsnaturalwaveringchangesinthesunsheatandocean
current.Whiletheseargumentsmakesense,howisitpossiblethatsomanychangesinthe
Earthstemperaturehaveoccurredthemoreadvancedwegetincarsandscientificexperiments
thatprimarilyreleasegreenhousegases?ItisimpossiblefortheEarthtohavesuchariseinsea
levelsandwarminginsuchlittletime,itishumanactivitythathascontributedtothisdisastrous
causewhichwillonlyworsen.

Overall,globalwarmingshouldnotbeignoredduetoitsdangerouseffectsontheEarth
andlivingorganisms.Humanactivitysuchastheburningoffossilfuelsisnegativelyimpacting
sealevelsandclimatechange.Itisimportanttobeawareofthecausesandeffectsofglobal
warming,itsuptoashumanbeingstotakeastandandslowglobalwarmingdown.
