Thesis: Given the fact that the Philippines lacks resources in the
aspect of law enforcement, the government should try to consider
utilizing the innovative and advanced approach toward preventing
crimes referred to as predictive policing.

Predictive policing is the future of law enforcement.

a. Its nearest comparison is the software which was used
in the movie Minority Report.
b. Crime prevention has always been, to some extent,
about prediction.
c. Using the experiences and great sense of intuition,
police officers know where and when a crime incident
can happen.
d. Philippines lack in resources in law enforcement like
police officer population and police equipment.
Predictive policing as applied in real-life situations
a. There are two major companies in the United States
which offers predictive policing software and both of
them follows different approach in applying predictive
policing in an area
i.
Predpol uses computerized analysis of historical
crime data from databases, and record
management systems to assess whether a specific
area is prone to crime.
ii.
Hunch Lab also uses the computer-analyzed
information but implements a risk-terrain
modelling in a self-learning computer algorithm
which then forecasts a crime incident.
CONCLUSION

a. Predictive policing makes the limited resources of a

country in terms of law enforcement in order to build a

safer, and convenient society for all.
