Colossians 3:17

Gifted With the Journey

And whatever you do,

whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the

Lord Jesus, giving thanks
to God the Father through

Him.

Volume 2, Issue 2 - November 2015

Our Last Months in a Nutshell
Impact Day & Spiritual Emphasis Week
IMPACT DAY is a day that BFA sets aside to serve the greater Kandern
community. We go out in teams to prescheduled worksites and work through
the day. The worksites range from outside landscaping to baking cookies and
ministering to refugees. This is normally the Wednesday of our Spiritual
Emphasis Week.
This year the Spiritual Emphasis Weeks theme was God in the midst of
pain and suffering. The speaker challenged the students to hold onto God and
keep the faith, even when they dont understand. Yes, bad things happen to
good people, because that is just life and the marred world that we live in,
where people have been granted freedom by God to choose and make
decisions. It was powerful!
Serving at the Dorm
Weve continued to help out at the dorm Maugenhard this year, and have
enjoyed the continued relationships there. Its always fun meeting the new
students as well, and helping them become a part of the community. Most of
the dorm staff are also new this year, so we have the privilege of being
familiar faces for the students that have been at the dorm longer. We will
have Thanksgiving together at the dorm tomorrow!
Herbstmesse
Herbstmesse is Basel, Switzerlands celebration welcoming in the Fall.
They have bumper cars where the BFA Middle School and High School meet
to participate in for an hour each. Teachers, administrators, parents, small
group leaders and students all participate in the fun and fellowshippossibly
letting out some in held aggression, but it is all good!
Volleyball Teams
Our volleyball teams are currently at their season closing tournament. We
will have the report on Monday. However, we hear that our girls have made it
to the semi-finals. Pray that they would have good testimonies as they play.
First Evening Music Recital of the Year
Our first Evening Music Recital was last night. The students played well! I
wish you could have heard them. My team also worked so well together! It
makes such a difference to have returning and experienced staff! Such a
blessing!
Support Explanation
For further explanation about our support status, weve been operating
significantly off of special/one-time donations. Those funds are quickly
diminishing, and currently we only have about 54% of our support needs
coming from regular, monthly donations. We are concerned, but we are not
allowed to reduce the amount we are receiving according to both the
Germany governments requirements and our mission. If led.please give.

Prayer - Praises & Requests

Praise
* We had a good first quarter!! Students
are learning, staff are not too stressed,
and we are having a beautiful fall. No
major issues!! We are finding a new,
less stressed pattern in our daily life and
service as well, which is great!
* Thankful for you, our supporters!!!
Requests
* November is normally pretty crazy
around herethat we would work hard
and play hard, everything in its time as
we serve, teach, play, etc.
* Keeping our focus on the Lord. Not
fearing the future or what is in front of
us right now. Holding
onto our

confidence that He is indeed with us.
* Health - on a special

diet to help

* Support needed. Living, therefore, 46%
on 1 time gifts that are decreasing fast.

Sometimes while driving on the

Autobahn (Interstate), you will find
yourself driving under a bridge
with a lot of plants growing on it.
These are actually wildlife bridges.
Theyll have minimal fences
running along the road, and then
have these wildlife bridges so that
animals can cross the road without
endangering themselves or those
on the road.

IT Corner
Due to some changes requested by
Administration, were going to be
doing a complete network
overhaul. This will involve new
security methods along with
changes to how the network runs
and operates at all BFA locations.
Ive been tasked with working
with our newest IT member to plan
and test all of the changes, with the
goal of implementing them for the
next school year. Its a huge task
(as every part of the system will be
impacted), but Im also pretty
excited about it. Both pretty
stressful at times and a lot of fun!

Katies Highlight
I am really enjoying being more a
part of things at the dorm this year.
We are volunteering once a month
for a whole weekendFriday
night to Sunday nightbut I am
enjoying better connections with
students, more understanding of
our dorm staff, and just helping
make their job easier while we are
there, hopefully being a blessing.
A fun memory from this last time
was making a recipe. We needed
quite a bit of pepper. So, three of
us staff were turning small pepper
grinders from the grocery to get
enougha pepper grinding party!

Circle of Friends
We are thankful for the small
groups that we get to meet with
regularlyjust guys, just gals and
together! Andjust the people we can
meet with every once in a while
are great too!
