What The Bill Does

The 2016 NHS (Reinstatement) Bill will restore the NHS to a
comprehensive, universal health service - fully publicly owned,
funded and run - that the Secretary of State has a duty to
provide, and that is free at the point of use.
It will put the NHS back together after 3 decades of increasing
privatisation: David Cameron has admitted his Coalition
governments stealth - privatising Health and Social Care Act
2012 was a mistake.
84% of the public want a publicly owned, publicly run NHS.
It will end the huge waste of money on commercial
tendering and contracting that has built up in the
NHS over the last 3 decades.
The most conservative estimate is that the Bill will put at least
4.5bn/year back into patient care, after stopping this waste.
It would fill the projected 22bn NHS funding gap by 2020/21;
this funding shortage is the reason for proposed cuts to our
hospital services - including the closure of Huddersfield A&E.
The hospital services cuts would endanger patient safety in
both Calderdale & Kirklees. Higher death rates are associated
with increased distances to A&E - AND inpatient death rates
rise in hospitals that retain their A&E after a nearby hospital
loses theirs.

BILL ON 11 MARCH!
