INTRODUCTORYACTIVITY(23MINUTES)
MovementVarieties:Thestudentswillwalkaroundtheplaygroundinadesignatedarea.When
givenasignal,thestudentswillchangetheleveloftheirmovementwhichiswalking,jumping,
hopping,orskipping.Thestudentswillalsochangethedirectionoftheirmovement.Forexample,
thestudentswillmovestraightforward,zigzag,orcircular,whilealsoincreasingtheirspeed.
FITNESSDEVELOPMENT(67MINUTES)
Thestudentswillfocusondifferentpartsoftheirbodywhileperformingthreedifferentcircuit
trainingexercises.Therewillbethreedifferentstationswiththreedifferentcircuittraining
activities.Thesestationswillbedifferentanimalswalks(bearcrawl,frogjump,anddonkeykicks)
Thestudentswilldoeachstationforaboutoneminute.Thesestationsarerepresentedbyconesand
haveprinteddirectionsonthemtohelpguidethestudents.Page38
LESSONFOCUS(1215MINUTES)
Thelessonfocusisusinglocomotormovementswhilethestudentsperformaparachutefitness
activity.Theactivitywillinvolvethestudentsshaking,moving,andpullingtheparachute.Atthe
endoftheacitivity,thestudentswillusetheirknowledgeofcolorstorununderneathandacross
theparachute.Afterhavingthestudentsmovearoundandgetafeelfortheparachute,youcan
throwaballinthereandhavethekidsmaketheballbounceintotheair.Page29
GAME(57MINUTES)
ThegameactivitywillbesimilartoataggamecalledSquirrelintheTrees.Thetreesareformed
bytwoplayersandeachtreewillhaveonesquirrel.Therewillbesquirrelswithoutatreebut
thatisoksinceyouwillnotalwayshaveanevennumberofstudents.Onsignal,thesquirrelswill
escapethetreeandrunaroundthedesignatedarea.Onthenextsignal,thetreeswhoarealso
supposedtomovewillfreezeinplacewhilethesquirrelstrytofindthenearestavailabletree.This
issimilartoaversionofmusicalchairs.Makesurethestudentsswitchrolessotheyhavethe

activitiesaregreatforanytimeofthedayunlessitisverywindy(makesusingtheparachute
difficult).Thekidsneedtohavefunwhileperformingtheseactiviteswhichiswhyplayingmusicis
importanttogetthekidsmoreactive.
