fourthfunctionalprerequisitesisgovernment.Thegovernmentalsoprovidesdisciplineby
havinglawsandpunishmentsforbreakingthelaws.Thefifthfunctionalprerequisitesis
economy.Theeconomyisabletohelpregulatetheamountofconsumptionsandlimita
person'sneedsandwants.
PeoplewhohavedolittlechangeovertimeiswhatEmileDurkheimcalledmechanical
solidarity.Theyareasocietythatsharetheirexperiences,knowledgeandskillswithintheir
group.Theydolittlechangesthroughouttheyearswhichmeansthattheirparent,
grandparents,andgreatgrandparentshavedonethesamethingthepersonisdoing.An
exampleisafarmer,mostfarmersdothesamethingeverydaywhichishaveanimals,sell
theirproductsandgrowmorefood.Theirroutineusuallydoesntmakemuchofachange.
Afterthosefarmercantdotheirjobtheyhavetheirchildrendoitandthentheir
grandchildrenaredoingthesamething.Thisismechanicalsolidaritybecausemostofthe
childrengrowupwithonlythatoption,whichistobeafarmer.
Mostpeopleneedhelpfromothersevenifpeoplerealizeitalittle,whichiswhatDurkheim
calledorganicsolidarity.Organicsolidarityisasocietywherepeoplerealizethattheyneed
oneanothertobeabletosucceedandthencollaborate.Anexampleoforganicsolidarity
canbeacar.Acarcanhavetheengine,theseatsandthepassengersbutwithoutthe
wheelsitisntabletoworkproperly.Ifacarhasitswheelsthenthecarcantransportthe
passengersanywheretheywouldlikebutthecarmusthavethewheelstobeableto
