American Poet Research Essay – Due no later than the end of school on Friday, May 7, 2010.

*NOTE: No papers will be accepted after this time. If you are absent on this day, or know of conflicts
in your schedule, papers should be turned in before the due date, or emailed by 4pm on the due date
to ddennis@oconee.k12.sc.us, or dropped off at the school office by the same time. Computer
problems, printer issues, car difficulties, etc are NOT considered legitimate excuses.

Your essay should meet the following criteria:

- At LEAST three full pages in length

- 1” margins
- 12 point font
- Times New Roman font
- Printed in black ink only
- MLA format headers including Name, Page #, Class, Teacher, Date, and Title.
- Double Spaced. NOT 2 ½ space or anything else. Standard Double Space.
- All essays should include an introduction paragraph, a conclusion paragraph, and at least 3 body
paragraphs.
- Properly formatted Works Cited page (at least 3 sources. one must be a non-internet source).
