Objective
To continue growing as a special education and bilingual leader, which will enable me to use my
creativity skills, enthusiasm, and effectively direct faculty and students with diverse populations at a variety of
academic levels to ensure a more successful learning experience.

Special Education Teacher and Chairperson
Burnet Elementary School, Houston Independent School District Houston, TX
Coordinate ARDs meetings and develop IEPs according to the needs of each student.
Support SLL teachers in assistance with the five observable indicators. (Student portfolios, Individualized visual
schedules, routines developed and clear visual expectations, master schedule, data collection) and provide
guidance in the implementation of them in their classroom.
Provide support to teachers on curriculum practices of Unique Learning system.

management, and curriculum.
Utilize HUB for sharing teaching strategies in Unique Learning system.
Create a stimulating and motivating classroom environment in which to provide an engaging educational
program for students with special needs.
Plan a program of study that reflects accommodations and/or modifications for students with special needs in
the campus.
Prepare lessons that adapt according to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Assess the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
