REPORT ON ACTIVITIES OF SAI INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION - WEST INDIES GUYANA CHAPTER (SIEWI-G)
January December 2015
Greetings to one and all.
We pledge to share and instill the fundamental human values to all participants.
Education must broaden one's vision to include the welfare of all. Education must equip
one to live happily without making others unhappy, to evaluate everything correctly and
without prejudice. Real education should enable one to utilize the knowledge one has
acquired to meet the challenges of life and to make human beings as happy as possible.
January 11 - SIEWI-G purchased fifty (50) copies of SSEHV Teacher/Students Handbooks
from Trinidad. (NB - Fifty such books were received in 2014 and distributed in Guyana)
January 12 - SIEWI-G meeting with Mr. Cleveland Rose - Administrator of Vryman's Erven
Training Centre (VETC), New Amsterdam, Berbice. Discussion on weekly
schedule/logistics for EHV Programme.
January 19 - SIEWI-G at orientation of parents and students of VETC at Youth
Entrepreneurial Skills Training (YEST). Introduction to SSEHV/Educare "Life Skills
Education Programme" to four (4) teachers and twenty-eight (28) students scheduled
for twenty (20) weeks.
March 9 - Meeting with Mr. Brian King, Director of Youth (ag) at Ministry of Culture, Youth
& Sport in Georgetown, Re: Progress Report on SSEHV at VETC and signature for
Certificates.
June 9 - Meeting with Mrs. Kunti Mathura, Director of SIEWI at Longdenville, Trinidad.
Tour of Pre-Kindergarten SAI School SAI Garden of Blooms, chat with staff and
observations.

July 16 - Meeting with Mr. David Permaul Armogan, Chairman, RDC, Region # 6 at New
Amsterdam, Berbice, Re: SSEHV/Educare.
July 24 - Graduation of VETC participants of SSEHV Life Skills Training Programme at
New Amsterdam.

August 1-3 - SIEWI-G delegates participated in SSE 2015 World Conference at Prashanti
Nilayam, India. (45 countries, 557 delegates)

August 7 - Second Anniversary of SIEWI-G.

October 11 - SIEWI-G meeting with Mr. Dave Singh of Soesdyke Mandir, East Bank
Demerara re: Implementation of SSEHV Life Skills Education Programme. Agreed on
October 18, 2015 to March 2016 duration, each Sunday, involving three (3) teachers
and twenty-three (23) students. Current status: Ongoing.
