WEBSITE ACTION PLAN
Section 1: Initial Brainstorm
The issue I have chosen to write my website on is gender pay and earnings gap in
Europe, Asia and the USA.
I will study the current benefits men have over women with gender equality in terms of
jobs and occupations (including equality with wages) and the current problems women
suffer while working in the workforce

What do I already know?
I know that men generally earn more
wages and get more workers benefits than
women due to discrimination against
women in the workforce. There are some
benefits that will allow men to have some
more enjoyable opportunities than women
in terms of their occupation, such as more
holidays, and more easily accepted.
Also, men generally find more job
opportunities (especially those at the Csuite) than women, which is unfair. Women
only head 25 companies in the Fortune
500.
What do I need to find out?
I need to find out why this is happening
(the causes behind it) and why men get to
participate in more leadership jobs while
women generally have to work harder to
live.

What do I already know?
Women are generally forced to do jobs
which can be humiliating and that they do
not want to do. This is because society
generally does not want to accept women.
Women also earn less than men and have
to do more grueling work compared to
men.

What are some of the specific problems
that women are forced to face in the
workplace? Why is this happening? How
can we promote freedom and equality
(especially in the Hong Kong context)?
Most importantly, how do we make this
world fairer and equal in terms of jobs and
occupations?

The sources were very
useful the IWPR site gave
lots of statistics that I was
able to include in my
website (with citations, of
course).
The payscale website was
not as useful as the IWPR
website. There were some
facts that were repeated
from the IWPR website and
the website mostly
repeated what other
websites have already
said, giving the most
obvious data only.
The Washington Post
article, although not
directly related to the
topic, still gave some good
insight into the unfairness
women face in the
workforce, especially
concerning occupational
segregation (which was
highlighted as one of the
reasons of why gender
equality exists in my
website)
This Wikipedia was not as
helpful as most Wikipedia
articles are. There were a
lot of topics which were
hard to discuss and
analyse and some did not
have any relation to do
with the topic.
This website was
extremely useful in
completing the actions

that I adopted into my
website.

wage gap in general. Some
of the information are not
directly related (state
wage gap is included in
there too). The website is
targeted for people in the
USA.
