To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Bev Waters I am a Supervisor for student teachers at the College of
Education/University of Arizona.

Jaclyn Turner is one of my students that I am currently supervising. She began
observing/teaching in January of 2016 for the College of Education. She currently is
teaching 3rd grade at White Elementary School. It has been a real pleasure to watch Jaclyn
develop into a very effective teacher. She began the semester assuming responsibilities that
allowed her to interact with the students and teach a few quick 5-10 minute lessons. As she
progressed into the semester and is in full take over she is lesson planning, teaching full
lessons, grading, and communicating with parents. Jaclyn is very skilled at maintaining
student attention and assessing individuals. Ms. Turner follows the curriculum and works
endlessly with her mentor teacher to make sure the needs of all her students are met.
Whether she is doing guided reading, a science lesson, or math Jaclyn uses questioning
techniques and active participation keeping all students actively engaged. Jaclyn is very
open to constructive criticism and quickly implements all suggestions into her lessons.
Classroom management is typically a struggle for student teachers but Jaclyn has a system
that demonstrates established procedures, respect for the teacher as well as peers, and for
safe use of lab supplies and equipment. She is also very skilled when it comes to including
technology into her planning. She uses the document camera frequently in her lessons. Her
sense of humor, patience, and caring attitude allows her to make strong connections with
the kids. The feeling tone in the classroom is very pleasant, safe, and conducive for learning.
Ms. Turner is very professional. She is always on time to school, dresses professional, and
has a very mature and professional presence with the students.

Ms. Turner is extremely qualified to teach in your district and it is with great honor that I
recommend her for a elementary position. Your district will be quite fortunate to have
Jaclyn as a faculty member.

Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns regarding Ms. Turner.

Sincerely,
Bev Waters
