Kinds of democracy

One or more democracies?


The kinds of democracy are:
THE FIRST PERSPECTIVE:

DIRECT
INDIRECT
SEMI-DIRECT

THE SECOND PERSPECTIVE:

FORMAL
REAL

Direct Democracy
It is exercised without representatives' inter-mediation.
The direct democracy takes the assembly as a pillar.
Indirect Democracy
People are governed by means of representatives.
The indirect democracy can adopt systems like:

Parliamentary
o It governs the legislative power.
Presidential
o It governs the executive power.
Semi-presidential
o The parliament designates one of its members as boss of the government.

Semi-Direct Democracy
The people delegates a part of the exercise of its sovereignty to representatives and the
direct decision is reserved on topics of high public interest.
Formal and Real Democracy
Formal democracy:
When the government acts without the participation of the people. (The requests of the
people are not considered.)
Real democracy:

When the government acts with the participation of the people.


Notes about democracy in Latin America

Democracy is not to elect and to be elected.


Democracy doesn't live and doesn't die itself.
The democracy is a citizen who guarantees and then it expands its civil, political,
social and economic rights.
