Experience
PRE-TEEN GROUP LEADER, CHILDRENS OUTING ASSOCIATION; MILWAUKEE, WI 20082011

While working at COA my job was to watch and keep safe the children who
attended the CLC(community learning center). As well as maintain a healthy
balance between physical activity and learning environment. I would help the
children with homework as well as assign roles in a gym atmosphere to create
fair games in which the children would learn to work as a team rather than a few
overcoming the obstacles while others struggled.
SPARKS COORDINATOR, BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF GREATER MILWAUKEE; MILWAUKEE, WI
2011-2012

During my stay at the Boys and Girls club of Greater Milwaukee I was the
coordinator for a gym based learning project called Sparks. This program was set
up to incorporate the learning atmosphere of daily academics in a childs school
day to the gym class to develop motor skills while also honing the childs ability
to achieve goals in the classroom. My responsibility was to create a schedule of
programs from a large list that would be suitable for the age level of the group of
kids I would have assigned in the particular time slot. I was for a lack of better
terms unguided and had to maintain a certain level of professionalism on my own
which taught me to create goals for myself that differed from the goals set by my
employer. This created a sense of workplace morals in me that makes me want to
do the best I can do not to please only my supervisor but to please myself.
CAMP COUNSELOR, RIVERWEST OUTDOORS ENTERPRISE; MILWAUKEE, WI 2012-2014

At Riverwest Outdoors enterprise I was hired to be the active lifeguard on duty

for all water activities. This included day trips on canoes and kayaks as well as
the occasional swimming in Lake Michigan. My supervisor saw that I was capable
of other tasks so my job evolved into a regular camp counselor for all programs
available which included the Canoeing, Kayaking, Biking, Hiking, Rock Climbing
and the occasional trip to Devils Lake for rock climbing. This company is a small
private company that contracts through school districts and recreational centers
for the surrounding areas of Milwaukee. I learned valuable skills such as
communication with parents and members of society who would show interest in
the companies motives. My responsibilities included, but where not limited to the
supervision of the children during the activities and keeping the children
interested in what we were doing whether it be any of the activities mentioned
earlier. Occasionally I have had to act quickly on my feet to resolve a conflict that
involved the safety of another person, which I have always done quickly and
precisely to preserve the safety of everyone involved.
DONATION ATTENDANT, GOODWILL; WEST ALLIS, WI 2013-2014

While working at Goodwill I was a donation attendant which means I was the
worker who would maintain the back room of goodwill as well as receive all
donations that would arrive at goodwill. The donation attendant responsibility is
to receive the donations with a smile and greet the customers no matter the
weather or the attitude of the customer. This trained me to always check my
personal life at the door of the company so my personal issues would not
interfere with my profession workplace. Occasionally a customer would become
dissatisfied and it would be my duty to either answer cal my or resort to calling a
member of the managerial staff to resolve the issue. While also taking donations,
I was responsible for the cleaning of the back room which included an industrial
floor scrubber, cleaning supplies to manage everything from bodily fluid to
hazardous material spills. I was trained in the steps to take in case of a hazardous
material spill. lastly my responsibility was to maintain order in the back room of
goodwill in the pricers of the merchandise. I was forklift certified on a sit-down
forklift and I would stack and unstack bins of clothing or goods and deliver them
to the pricers in need of more items to price. This was approximately 50% of my
job as the pricers would very often need new bins. The back room was never well
endowed spatially so I was responsible for the safe operation of the forklift in
tight spaces. The forklift duties were not limited to just stacking and unstacking
as everyday(sometimes every other day) Goodwill would receive a semi-truck for
the outbound salvage and recycled goods that would we would overstock, So my
duty was to load the truck in a timely fashion to send the truck on its way as
quickly as possible while maintaining a safe working environment for everybody
working in the back room since It was all one area. The workers who would price
the merchandise would be side by side to me as I operated the forklift so I must
of been constantly aware of my surroundings.
