NEW HIGHER
LOOK STANDARDS

Five Peaks is a family owned company and proud of it. For three generations we have been providing the highest quality products for
the portable sanitation industry. Still, it doesn’t feel like that long ago when we began serving our customers with a total commitment to
their portable restroom needs. It seems like yesterday when our designers came up with a revolutionary restroom design and filled it with
standard features. Features that no one can compete with for quality or price. Still we thought it was time for a new look. The logo has
received a makeover - a bit bolder with a more modern typeface. It’s a reflection of the progess Five Peaks has made over all these years.
But as we continue to move forward you can rest assured that our dedication to excellence isn’t going anywhere.

FIVE PEAKS. It’s time to get more out of portable sanitation.

what can proS do to prevent peeping?

through the vents at women using an adjacent restroom, according to a
report in the Chicago Tribune.
As a restroom contractor, have you ever seen a situation like this
when you have multiple units placed in a row? It seems stories like this
are becoming more common. There have been reports in recent years of
assaults happening in restrooms, criminals hiding in restrooms to elude
police and even a man hiding inside the holding tank to peep at women
entering a restroom. These are disgusting stories that may involve persons
suffering mental illness.
What can PROs do to enhance security for users of restrooms at large
special events? Would there be a way to screen the units so users in one
restroom can’t look through vents into another unit? Perhaps there are ways
to stagger the placement of units to discourage this kind of behavior. Maybe
unit spacing and added security personnel are ideas to be considered for
special events.
If you’ve dealt with a security situation like one of the examples I
mention, share your ideas to prevent problems in the future. Send me a note Armal INC Phone: +1 770 491 6410

“One of our first customers was concerned about price,” Hardin says of
a client considering a myriad of services from the companies. When Hardin
offered to throw in aerial photography, “that sealed the deal,” he says.
“We’ve actually received, in the last months, several contracts when we
offered this option to them,” Hardin adds.
Hardin says they have heard clients are ecstatic with the aerial photos.
“A lot of these contractors – probably 80 percent – are from out of state,”
says Killian. The photos allow clients to show construction progress to their
supervisors located in other parts of the country.

But government contracts, she adds, are valuable

units. “Right now, we’re growing
about 300 to 400 units each year,” he says. “As the years go, we’d like to step
that up 10 to 20 percent each year.”
“A lot of business comes our way from past experience,” adds Williams.
“We do have a lot of repeat customers.” And Hardin, who also ran a
commercial paint company for 35 years, brought PTF a lot of contacts,
specifically around Fort Bragg.
“That’s a market we’re looking to capitalize on,” he says, adding that
going out and getting new business should support their expansion goals.
“We’re trying to hit it fast and hard. That’s how we’re growing over time, and
we’re really hitting these special events. It’s a quick turnaround, plus it’s
good exposure.
For PTF, a strategy of collaboration to encourage construction
companies to get all their needs from one service provider has paid off. And
Williams, who previously worked in health care and restaurants, says she
still loves her work in waste management.
“I can’t imagine doing anything else.” ■

need a lift in the shop?

When choosing a hoist to get under vehicles and equipment,
let safety and ideal lifting capacity be your guide

ou’ve been using floor jacks and jack stands to work on your trucks
and equipment. Tired of squeezing beneath vehicles, you’re thinking
about moving up to a lift. But how do you know which one to choose?
Will a less expensive lift perform as well as a higher priced model? What
about a used lift? Are they safe? What should you look for?
Lifts come in various styles – inground, two-post surface mounted,
multi-post runway (four-post surface mounted), low/mid-rise frame engag-
ing, drive-on parallelogram, scissor, and moveable wheel engaging – and
can vary in price from hundreds to thousands of dollars.
Before investing in a lift, determine how the lift will be used and where
it will be located. Can your garage floor support the weight, is there enough
ceiling height and how close is your power and air supply?

LIFTING POWER
Certified inground and four-post above-ground lifts, designed to do so,
can hoist their rated capacity, including a 33,000-pound vehicle. Certified
mobile column lifts, heavy-duty scissor lifts or parallelogram lifts are equally
suited to the job.
“Typically, when someone has buy-
