Bug in a Rug
I will have the children close their eyes, and then I will pick
someone to come up and hide under the blanket. The
children will then have to figure out who is under the
blanket and call them by name by saying Bug, bug, under
the rug
I will have a box and in my box there will pairs of pictures that
are familiar rhyming. For example; Hat/bat, chair/bear and all
of the children will sit in a circle. One child will come up to the
teacher and pull a picture out of the box. They will state what
the picture is and then they will try to find a word the rhymes
with. Each child will get a turn. This will help the children start
to recognize the sounds in the words that rhyme.
