ANALYSTS NOTE: Senate Bill 1240 increases the percentage of money canal companies can use for
administrative fees. Under current law, canal companies are only permitted to use 10 percent of fees for
administrative purposes and the other 90 percent has to be used for operation and maintenance. This bill
does not raise assessments. Senate Bill 1240 only raises the percentage of money a canal company can
use for administrative duties from 10 percent to 20 percent. (0)
