Dear, Mrs. Petrone
I am very interested in applying for the World history position at Desert Mountain
High School. I believe my commitment to education and experience in several
classrooms during my education at Arizona State University, make me an excellent
candidate.
I have experience in teaching 7th through 12th grades in history, government,
economics and science. I strive to create a classroom environment that will
motivate and encourage students to enjoy social studies while maintaining a
disciplined approach to learning to build a foundation for lifelong learning. I believe
the primary goal of high school social studies is to prepare students to participate in
civic life and to become financially independent. I use multiple assignments and
assessments during the year to help students track their progress towards
appropriate goals.
I will graduate with a bachelor of the arts in Secondary History Education from
Arizona State University. I will be certified to teach secondary world and American
history and plan to become certified to teach economics and government. I am a
capable problem solver and can manage students in the classroom. I use engaging
methods like games, hypotheticals and Legos to keep student interest in my
lessons. I have demonstrated strong organizational skills and leadership skills.
I am certain that my skills and experience will meet your job requirements. I would
be very happy to meet with you for an interview. You can contact me at (480) 6851960 or by email at mmorse7739@yahoo.com any time. Thank you for your
attention.
Sincerely,
Michael Morse
