Caruhatan National High School (CNHS) is surrounded by houses, some stores and few
factories. And in the back of the school theres a school for elementary students.

The school campus is nice; the colour of the school is dirty white. There are two
buildings, old and new, and theres a under construction building for senior high school or Grade
11 and Grade 12. Each building is in good condition but some rooms are not in good conditions.
The offices of the school is in the second floor, easy to find because if you enter the gate
you will see the principals office and the other offices are located in the same building and same

School Address: Pacencia, Lungsod ng Valenzuela, Kalakhang Maynila
Date of Visit: January 08, 2016
When I entered the first room that I observed, I feel some excitement but nervous.
But my excitement is faded when I see the room is not cleaned and the students are
outside of their classroom. The chairs are not organized and their walls are dirty. The
teacher greets her students and after that she commanded to clean the room first before
they start their discussion. In their discussion the students are actively participated, they
raised their hands if their teacher is asking of something. Because of what I observed, I
get some strategies to be use.

Your Analysis
How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact on the learning of the
students
going
to
school?
What
are
your
conclusions?
The school campus and classroom have an impact in a student, if the surroundings of the
school and classroom are in a good condition and well-ventilated the students are
motivated to go to school. But if the classroom and school campus is not okay maybe
some students may lose their interest to go school.
How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How does
this
relate
to
your
knowledge
of
facilitating
learning?
In child and adolescent development, the students are developing their minds and beside
of that their environment has a big part to the development of every student. And in the

facilitating learning, the factors that will affect the learning of the students like
environmental factors, teacher factors, etc.

Your Reflections
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why
not?
No, because some equipment are not available and it is not ventilated. But the
faculty members are friendly and approachable and their staffs are friendly too.
2. What
kind
of
school
campus
is
conducive
to
learning?
A school campus is conducive to learning if the school is safe to the students; the
surroundings are good and have some part of the school that a student can relax,
peaceful environment.
3. What
kind
of
classroom
is
conducive
to
learning?
A classroom is conducive to learning if the classroom is well-ventilated, clean and
smells good, the chairs is organized, and the teacher table is available in every
room.
4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?
I will set some rules about the classroom environment to have a nice and very
organized room to have a smooth discussion because the environment is okay and
the students can motivate to listen on my discussion.
5. Write
your
additional
learnings
and
insights
here.
As a future teacher, I need to find alternative ways on how my students motivated
to listen on my discussion even if it is not ventilated. And give what my students
needs.

My Personal Illustration of an Effective School Environment

The school environment has a big part on the developing of the students.
The school environment should safe in every aspect. The students motivated if
their school or classroom is clean, orderliness and well-ventilated. The equipments
that they need should complete and in a good condition so that every students will
not have a difficulty about using or finding those equipments. School environment
influence more positive results in every students like being part of this school,

loving his/her teacher as his/her parent to and also the people around him/her.
Teach them the proper discipline to act inside or outside the school. Caring for
them and student should believe that they will be a successful person in the future.
