From making this magazine, I have had to use various pieces of

technology including my Weebly blog, extensive uses of Photoshop, the
Nikon DSLR camera, Microsoft Publisher and Dafont.

I have learnt how to construct an organised blog where I can display my

work and for it to be available for both me and the marker to view
effectively. I have learnt how to manage it and make new pages and sub
pages on the tab section in order for my work to be sorted into categories.
As well s this I have also learnt how to import images which has allowed me
to display my progress as the magazine has developed.

I had previously used Photoshop prior to the construction of this magazine,

however not to the extent of what I needed to do for this assignment. I
added the plaster tool to the list of stools I was able to use, this tool allowed
me to cover up any imperfections in an image and blend them in with the
image. Along with this tool I also used the cloning tool that I was previously
familiar with which fulfilled the same job as the plaster tool, except I had
more control and accuracy with this tool and was able to cover up much finer
imperfections of images. I also used the sharpening filter, this filter gave my
images a much cleaner look and provided it with better quality to the image.

A piece of media equipment that I have never used before was the Nikon DSLR
camera. I was taught how to use most features of this camera. For example I
was able to adjust focus, zoom, controlling my shot and how to generally take a
decent picture with the camera. This then meant that I was able to create an
effective front cover, double page spread and contents due to some good quality
pictures being able to be included here. Overall, I had no knowledge with this
camera therefore I have learnt a lot from using it such as the things listed above.

During the construction of the magazine, I chose to use Microsoft publisher as

the document to use to make my magazine and operate with it. Whilst making
the magazine, I was able to learn how to use different tools on publisher of
which I had never used before, such as the transparency tool, shadow affects
and changing the colour of a picture to name a few. These tools allowed me to
create a technically better magazine as all of these tools had an impact on what
the magazine would actually look like.

On Microsoft Publisher, the fonts and titles that were available to me didnt
really help me out in terms of fulfilling my designs that I wanted to base my
magazine on, therefore I had to find an ideal website that would have the fonts
that I required. That came in the form of the website Dafont. I learnt how to
find the ideal font, adjust its size and colour and then publish it into my
magazine, and this proved very beneficial to the magazine.
