TodaywasthefirstdayImetMrs.Lund,anditwasalsomyfirstdayofshadowing.Iwas
overallverypleasedwiththewaytodaywent.Mrs.Lundhadgreatclassroommanagement,and
thestudentsrespectedher.Whenthestudentsweretoldtostoporbequiet,theylistenedtoher.
Mrs.Lundusedaloud,firmvoicewhichkeptthestudentsfocusedandlistening.TodayI
learnedthatitisimportanttotryandfindexamplesthestudentscanrelateto,andtotryand
keepitfunandentertaining.Itsalsohelpfultohavethestudentsusevocabsheetswhiletaking
notes,andtoallowtimeforquestionsbeforeyoubeginanewlessontoensurethewholeclassis
onthesamepage.IwasalsogiventheassignmenttogradeAlgebraItests.Ihavealwaysloved
gradingtestsandworksheets.Itwas,however,challengingwhenstudentshavepartofthe
answerbutnotallofit.Inthatsituation,IaskedMrs.Lundforherhelp.Ireallyenjoyed
shadowingMrs.Lund,andIamlookingforwardtocomingback!

TodayIgottheopportunitytogradetheAlgebraIItests,whichwasoversolvingsystems
ofequationsandmatrices.Ipersonallyreallyliketocorrectandgradeworksheets.However,
gradingcansometimesbehardbecauseastudentmayhavehalfoftheanswerrightbutthe
otherhalfwrong.
Eachclasshadaverysimilarday.Eachwentoverworkfromthepreviousday,starteda
newlesson,andthenweregivenanewassignmenttocomplete.
Fromthisshadowingexperience,IlearnedthatIreallydowanttobeamathteacher.I
lovethesettingandtheatmosphereoftheclassroom.Ialsolovethereactionsthestudentshave
whentheyfindtherightanswer.Ifeellikeasateacher,itmustbeaveryrewardingfeeling.I
wanttohelpstudentsreceiveagoodeducation,andIalsowanttohelpthemrealizetheirfull
potential.Ireallywanttohelpstudentsonadailybasisanddevelopimportantstudentteacher
relationships.Allinall,Ireallyenjoyedmyshadowingexperience.Itmakesmeveryexcitedfor
thefuture!
