Answer1Mandela is known for his never giving up attitude and a characteristic of a leader who believes

truly in honesty, integrity, ethics etc. and thats why after serving 27 years in jail he was elected
as a president of South Africa due to his increasing likeability in the country. One thing due to
which we will always remember Mr. Mandela is his way to look at the problem and his using of
knowledge, power, influence in such a manner that people work for the related and common
objective. Not only can we see his using power in both the direction i.e. towards higher level or
for superiors so that they can be convinced on some point and can gain their support so as to
move ahead but also try to motivate, convince, and delegate the responsibility and duty to the
subordinate so that they can work upon the strategy effectively and achieve the desired goal. This
effective usage of position power can be very clearly seen in the rugby match wherein he not
only highlighted the relevance of rugby match by linking it with a critical objective i.e. taking a
first stepping stone for removing the discrimination of black or white and establishing a healthy
relationship of black and white.
Nelson Mandela has also used his expertise and political savvy characteristics so as to bring
people together by negotiating and coming down to one solution which can solve the problem
effectively but here we must remember one thing that in order to solve the critical problem of
racial discrimination he many a times overlooked the advisers and took visible steps so that the
objective can be fulfilled which includes his communicating and sharing his concern with
everybody (directly or indirectly) and form a huge network (here he not only tried to make strong
internal but also external alliance), maintaining friendly relationship and solving the problems
effectively which changed the perspective of South African people and removed racial
discrimination with time.
