Letter of Recommendation
Dear Sirs:
Every so often, when working with pre-service teachers, I come across a future education candidate
that is truly an inspiration both as a student and a human being. Ms. Swoti Shinkle falls into this
select and small group. It is for this reason I am pleased to have the opportunity to write a letter of
recommendation in behalf of Swoti Shinkle as a candidate for a position with your organization. Ms.
Swoti was a student in my EDUC 340 Literacy and the Learner course. Throughout the semester
Swoti attended every class and greatly impressed me with her intelligence and creativity. Keep in
mind this is no small feat in and of itself, as I meet with two groups totaling 130 students.
During the various interactive lecture sessions, I frequently noticed how quickly Ms. Shinkle caught
on to the concepts of neuroscience and literacy acquisition. She was always willing to share her ideas
with her peers during discussion and turned in course assignments in a thorough and timely manner.
Due to her extended life experiences, her insights were far deeper and more meaningful than the
average undergraduate student.
What struck me most was Ms. Shinkles intense commitment to being an educator. She has a genuine
interest in children of diverse needs and their capacity to learn. She is a cognitively capable and
dedicated individual who can and will make a difference in the lives of her future students. In
addition, Ms. Shinkle has managed to use her unique experience as a young, adopted toddler from an
impoverished country. She began life with some challenging health conditions due to lack of adequate
medical care in her birth country to become an amazing, healthy and purposed filled young adult. I
have always been quite impressed with her personal tenacity and her ability to manage her time and
energies in a very successful manner. She is going to be an outstanding Language Arts teacher.
Swoti Shinkle is a bright and resourceful person. I believe she has an astute ability to analyze learning
situations and transfer new knowledge to other content experiences. Out of many viable candidates,
she should be at the top of your prospective list of future employees. Please give Ms. Shinkle strong
consideration for inclusion in your organization. She certainly will make a significant impact as an
effective and caring educator.
Feel free to contact me at any time for further information.
