Supplier Development
Job Purpose:
Supplier Development will drive quality, process & system improvement & maintenance across
HMCL supplier base. He will also ensure timely & flawless new product development to meet
quality & delivery expectation on new model launch. Additionally generate VA/VE opportunities
using lean methods to remove waste in supply chain
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech.
Scope:
The scope will cover all critical suppliers deploying multiple manufacturing technologies in
domestic & global horizon. Ensure human resource competency at supplier end.
Impact:
* Cost of Poor Quality, Monitoring of Scrap & Rejections & Opportunity loss in Market.
* Interface with internal customer / team of R&D , SQA & Supply
* Delay in Ramp Up impacts supply of vehicle to customer.
* Handling & resolving issues during new product development & Launch
Role & Responsibility:
* Ensure monitoring of supplier quality & communicating supplier performance with timely audit &
review improvements at supply chain partners.
* Act as program manager for New Product Development with suppliers follow Quality Planning
Steps to ensure Robust Development using zero defect parts in New Product Development using
PFD-PFMEA-PCP approach.
* Ensure required capacity with quality to match new model launch ramp up i.e Run @ Rate
* To verify suppliers readiness for model launch prior to Start of Production.
* To ensure engineering change management.
* Force corrective actions from audit findings & drive completion
* Analyze supplier process data to assist in chronic problem solving..
* Interface with SQA & R&D and within SS&SC for consistency of inspection method for supplied
goods
Knowledge and Skills & Competency:
* Technical Knowledge on various manufacturing process related to 2W/4W industry .
* Understanding of APQP Methodology & TS 16949 requirement.
* Program Management Skills,
* Anticipation of Process Failure Modes & knowledge of Pokayoke implementation
* Product & Process Development .
