Ken Boudine has shaped his sales staff to be very cut throat and
competitive.
The way that Boudine has decided to promote this atmosphere of
competition and
gain advantages in his company is post conventional of ethical
development. While
our capitalist system encourages competition to maintain fair pricing in
a
competitive market. There are rules that businesses must abide by or
face serious
consequences. You can tell by the way Cody Rudeisell Talks to Ali Sloan
that the
competition has had a negative affect on him he shows no
professionalism even
calling his colleague sweetie. This lack of respect shows how Boudine
doesnt
regulate his employees behavior, or monitor the competitive
atmosphere he has
created. Ethics have developed in companies where this behavior is
not tolerated in
most businesses. What should Ali Sloan do? Ali is in a very tough
position her
colleague came to her and showed very important private information
he obviously
stole from a competitor. This I believe is corporate espionage, which is
a federal

crime and has serious consequences for individuals and the business
they work for.
She could go to her boss and tell him or her. However they probably
wouldnt care.
Cody is right the amount of info Ken Boundine always seems to have.
He must be
doing something similar to what Cody is doing to obtain the info. So if
she went to a
boss she would probably be ignored and marked as someone who isnt
a team
player. She could also contact the appropriate federal agency who
deals with these
things. Or she could also report this breach to the party injured and
affected in this
situation Raleigh Tech. If I was in Ali Sloans place I would contact
Rayleigh Tech and
notify them of the illegal and unethical practices that were being used
to compete
with them by Pace. If she does nothing and Cody Rudisell actions are
discovered she
could be considered a accomplish after the fact and suffer for his
actions. This
situation is by far a easy one to be in, and Boudines sketchy antics are
what put her
in this situation. Cody Rudisells desiction could have differed if he used
a different
approach. If he used the utilitarian approach of philosophers of Jeremy
Bentham
and John Stuart Mill. He would of never considered breaking the law
and putting

everyone and the company he works for at risk. The utilitarian

approach states that
good moral behavior produces the most good for the most people.
Cody is obviously
not fallowing in this approaches footsteps. The next approach he could
of used is the
individualism approach. This approach believes that as long as
someone is thinking
of themselves there actions are moral and that people will adapt to
accommodate
each other. Since Cody Rudisell is thinking of his own self-gain you
could argue that
his actions fallow this approach. The practical approach takes all
parties evolved
and lets society decide what is wrong and what is right.
