Music importance to human geography

Music is important to human geography because music no matter where they live can
relate to the any culture. Folk music tells a story or a myth past down from generation to
generation. Folk culture is usually passed down by orally and no one really knows who actually
wrote the songs. Folk Culture spreads very slowly and within the group of people when they
migrate. But in popular culture the music is usually produced for a specific group of people. Also
the music is massed produced for the people to buy and listen too. Popular culture music started
around the 1900s. Popular Culture spreads rapidly to different areas to the world. Popular
culture spreads though communication and transportation.
Linkin Park is an example of popular culture music because they travel all around the
world for their concerts. Their next concerts are in Singapore on September 25 th and the 26th. The
previous concerts were in Hong Kong, Seoul, South Korea, Chiba, Japan, Imola, Italy, Los
Angeles, CA and many more places too. Linkin Parks songs relate to almost everyone because
their songs cover a lot of the genius like alterative, rock, rap, hip-hop, and rap-metal . And with
cover all of the genius, so many different people will like their music.

People are affected by music in different ways like when Linkin Park sing a song that
might cause people to start a mosh pit or a song will make people wave their hands side to side in
the air. It all depends on the type of music.
Linkin Park began in Agoura Hills, California. The history of Linkin Park is that the band
started with three high school friends Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson. They
started the band Xero in 1996. They also recruited Joe Hahn, Dave Phoenix Farrell and Mark
Wakefield to Xero. Mark Wakefield and Dave Farrell left Xero and then they need to find a new
lead singer because Mark Wakefield was the lead Singer of Xero. In 1999 Jeff Blue the vice
president of Zomba Music reffered Chester Bennington to Xero. And when Chester joined the
band they changed the name of the band to the Hybrid Theory. Then they changed their name
again to Linkin Park.
The first album was Hybrid Theory and it was released in 2000- 2002 and sold 4,8
million copies in one year. During this time they also released reanimation in 2002 and sold
nearly 270,000 copies during its debut week. The album after that one was Meteora and this
album sold more than 800,000 copies during its first week. It was ranked as the bestselling album
on the Billboard charts at the time in 2002-2004. They took a little break and then came back
with Minutes to Midnight 2006. Their newest album is A Thousand Suns and it was released in
2008.
