PURPOSE(THISISOBSERVATIONandQUESTION):

BYlearningearlyonfrommyfamily,tv,friends,andsciencethroughoutmylife.iknew
aplantneededlightandwatertosuriviveandgrow.Byusingthephitosynthesis
simulatorilearnedthataplantalsoneedscertainCO2levles,lightintensity,and
temperatureinordertothrive.Thesethingsleadmetomycontrolgroupof
HighCO2,
whitelightwithintensityof50,atemperatureof40,water.Thenlaterbyaskingmymom,
reasearching,andwonderingIlearnedtherehavebeencaseswhereAsprinhasbeensaidto
helpplantsgrowfaster.Thisleadmetotoaddasprininmyexpirenment.Withsamevariblesas
mycontolgroupiAddedasprintosomeplantstoasprintomakethemmyexpirenmental
group,priedictingtheAspprinwillmakeitgrowfaster.

HYPOTHESIS:

IfIputmyplantunderhighCO2levels,water,haveawhitelightwithan

intensityof50,temperatureof40,andaspirinwaterthenipredictitwillgrowfasterthanmy
plantwithallthesamethingsexceptforeaspirinwater.Thereasonsbehindmydecisionsare
thesimulationand
aspirinhassaidtogivemoreplantsmoresalicylic

acid.Thishelpingtheplant
whenitsunderinsectattack,dry,andacoupleotherthings.Putitalltogetherithelpsbooststhe
plantsimmunesystem.

Mycontrolsweretheonlyonetogrow.MyexpirentmentalofAsprinnevergrew.After
aboutaweekmycontrolsactuallystoppedgrowingandacoupledies.Myfistcontrol
grewsproutedfirstwhilemysecondcontrolsproutedadaylater.Bothgrewuntilit
seemedliketheyhitplatueofgrowthnomatterhowmuchwaterigaveit.

MyOnlyvariablewasAspirinandwater.Whilemycontrolwasjustwater.

CONCLUSION:
InthisexperimentIhypothesizedandtestedoutweatherAspirinwouldhelpmyplants
growfasterthanaplantwithjustwater.EverydayIgavethemwaterandrecordedthere
growth.Iobservedthatmycontrolsofjustwatergrewmore,actuallyjustplaingrew
thanmyexperimental.Eventuallyitseemedtheyreachedaplatueandstopped
growing.Myexperimentalnevergrew,disprovingmyhypothesis.Ithinknotadding
aspirineverydayaffectedtheplantbynotallowingittogatherenoughnutrientsfromthe
Aspirin.Ilearnedfromthislabthattakingcareofplantsareliketakingcareofapet.
Youneedtofeedthem,anddootherthingsforthemtogrowstrongandhealthy.Ialso
learnedthatmaybeIneedtoaddAspirineverydaytotheplantforittogrow.Ithink
thereweresomedayIforgottowatertheplants,gavethemtomuchwater,andfedone
plantmorethananotherwithoutrealizingit.Ialsothinkiwould'veaddedAspirin
everydayinsteadofthree.IfiaddAspirintotheexperimentaleverydaywillitgrow
fasterandbiggerthanthecontrolwithjustwater?Likeisaidtakingcareofaplantislike
takingcareofapet.Havingtofeedanddootherthingsinorderforthemtogrow.Also
beingresponsibleforwateringanddoingotherthingsforaplantislikebeing
responsibleforajoborotherthinginlife.
