HOW THE LEARNING WAS


FACILITATED

The class was given on a Saturday Morning


from 8am until 12pm
There was a 15 minute break given around
10:30 am
There was a video that went through
different scenarios that explained the way
one should react in a manner in which they
would have to apply CPR or First Aid
We had sanitized dolls both adult and infant
sized that assisted in our hands on learning
experience

THE LEARNING
ENVIRONMENT

It was a class of 8 students and 1 adult


The sound was not working at first the
instructor had to go and get personal
speakers from his car
Snacks were provided
Coffee was provided
Books were given to each person in the class
to follow along with the video
The class was light and fun.
The instructor explained and discussed each
section before proceeding to the next section

Steve was there as an expert of First Aid and

He has done the last 3 classes that I have had
to attend since I have been in DeKalb
He works for Kishwaukee Hospital

LIMITATIONS

I think that since this class was geared to the


people that work with young children it
should have more examples of things that
could actually occur inside of the daycare or
childcare setting.
So much information in a couple of hours.
Not a real test or assessment

Assumptions
*We had to be here for our jobs, however being there at 8am on
a Saturday was a choice
*Our experience with this not being the first time we took the
class made the class go smoother and added to the ease of
having to be in a class at 8am
*After a few cups of coffee we were all to eager to make sure
that we understood the information that was being taught to us.
*We knew why we were in the class and that the information
that we were being taught would not only benefit us but our
students and coworkers as well.
*We were here because we wanted to be although we knew it
was a requirement for the job, but it was our choice to do what
we had to do.
