Selambut also known as Batu Seremban is a traditional game played in Malaysia
during leisure hours. It is usually played by girls individually or in groups of two to five people. This game requires 5 pieces of small objects that can be grasped easily by the player(s). It can be from stones, pebbles or small cloth bags which are sewn and filled with saga seeds or sand as much. Players will sit in a circle on a flat surface and play in turns. Selambut game is a good exercise for individuals of any age in order to exercise their muscle reflexes and agility by coordinating the movement of the eyes and hand when throwing and collecting the objects in the air. Below are the instructions to play the Selambut game: 1. Disperse all the pebbles on the floor while making sure that none of the pebbles are touching one another. 2. Pick one pebble out of the five to be the mother and toss the mother into the air. 3. At the same time, collect a pebble on the floor and catch the mother. 4. Continue doing such until all the pebbles on the floor are collected. 5. Then the game goes into the second stage, where you have to collect two pebbles followed by another two pebbles. This means the mother will be tossed twice. 6. At the third stage, collect one pebble on the first toss. 7. On the second toss, collect three pebbles simultaneously. 8. At the fourth stage, collect all four pebbles while tossing the mother in the air. 9. At the final stage, the pebbles of five will be played as four. 10.Toss the mother in the air and collect the four pebbles on the floor simultaneously. 11.After that, toss the mother into the air again and this time, the four pebbles that are in your hand must be placed on the floor so that only the mother will be caught. 12.If you are able to do all these steps, you will win the game.
