EXPERIENCE The Capital Teaching Residency (CTR) is a nationally recognized, highly selective year-long teaching residency

training program focused in high need schools in Washington, D.C. resulting in full teaching licensure.

Collaborate with high performing mentor teacher as a full time co-team in the classroom, sharing all

responsibilities including instruction, behavior management and family engagement

Plan and lead whole group lessons for morning meeting, social skills, writers workshop, phonics, reading,

sight words, closing circle and major transitions

Plan and lead daily small groups in guided reading, math, sight words and intervention

Write and implement guided reading plans to be taught daily

Differentiate instruction and implement individualized student academic and behavior plans based on

measurable achievement goals to support all students in mastering grade level standards

Collaborate with Speech Language Pathologist and Social Worker to support students with IEPs

Collect, interpret and analyze student data and use to guide instruction

Conduct and assist with quarterly assessments including STEP, F&P, Wilson Fundations and sight words

Attend weekly certification classes for licensure


Design unit plans in math, literacy and science using thematic unit planning in line with state standards
fostering unique student needs with an anti-bias perspective
