The teacher will ask the students if they know anything

Modeling of the Concept
The teacher will read a small paragraph of the magazine
to show the fluency and intonation of a good reader.
Transition
The teacher will have the students who are wearing
green go back to their seats from the carpet. Then the
students who are wearing black will go back to their
seats. Followed by colors the students are wearing.
Guiding the Practice
The teacher and students will read the magazine about
Ireland together taking turns reading different sections
of the text.
The teacher will pause and ask different questions
throughout the text to check for comprehension and to
gain insight into what the children are thinking about.
The teacher will place the back page (a small quiz) on
the board and complete with the children at their seats.
Providing the Independent Practice
The teacher will pass out blank white paper for the
children to create their own castle on. Based on what the
class read and learned about castles in Ireland, the
students will create their own to show what it would look
like.
Adaptations/Accommodations for Students with Special Needs
For a student struggling with reading, the teacher will
help assist and guide them.
The teacher will walk around and monitor all students
during the quiz activity to make sure they are staying on
track and help any child who may be struggling or
needing help.
