Transformation through prayer

Firm faith in God can work miracles. Such a devotee is all-powerful. Certainly
faith is life; lack of faith is death. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa
Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek and ye shall find; knock, it shall be
opened unto you. The Bible
I reside in the hearts of those who intensely yearn for me. The Quran
We may practice different faiths in different ways, however fact remains that FAITH not only
exists but is an integral part of our life. Each one of us should have an affinity to a particular
faith and follow the guiding principles advocated by that faith. One of the ways in which we
invoke that faith is through prayer. Prayer is an effective medium through which we express
our innermost feelings to the all-pervasive. It is a sacred communication with God. When you
want to share something good your first reaction is to reach out to your family and friends.
When you are in a predicament or upset about something that cannot be discussed even
with friends, you reach out to your confidant. However, when none of these people are in a
position to offer any solace, you communicate your feelings with God, having complete faith
in Him. This goes to show that there is no doubt about this indefinable power that controls
you, me and the entire universe. Some may call
this power Krishna, some Jesus and some Allah, however this immortal power is the
controller of all the beautiful delicate laws of the universe.
It is this power that coordinates the elements of the universe like the sun, stars and the
milky just as it is also in charge of the biological activities in every organism. God doesnt
discriminate and He is merciful. He ensures that the heart of an atheist pumps blood the
same way as that of a staunch believer in the Almighty. He ensures that the body of a
murderer functions in exactly the same way as that of a gentleman. What differs is our
peace of mind and true happiness which can be derived only if we follow the path of
righteousness. Prayer doesnt mean engaging oneself in strenuous rituals to invoking His
blessings. A pure heart, faith, selfless thoughts and clean mind is all you need to have to
receive His special grace. There are people who claim to have completely surrendered to
God but are often found indulging in laziness and nurturing lower animal instincts. One
should remember that total surrender doesnt mean that you take absolutely no effort from
your side and simply wish the obstacles would vanish because you have prayed to God. You

must make every effort possible to overcome obstacles as God will grace those who are
sincere. Your prayer will be heard today and everyday; speak to Him!
