Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.

Learn how to wrap text around an image
Use paragraph styles in InDesign.

Process:

I set up the gateway fold in InDesign. I split my layout into four

different sections with the concept that one middle section
would be for the body of the brochure.
I used the dotted elements to create flow throughout the
brochure. I wanted the doors specifically on the front to show
the home elements. The black background is consistent
throughout it to have a big contrast.
For the image of the hotel, I used the quick selection tool
in Photoshop to remove the background of the image. Then
used the refine mask dialogue to smooth, feather, and apply
contrast to the outline. I then placed the image into InDesign
where I used the text wrap option to wrap my text around the
alpha channel of the image.

This hotel is linked to the Silver

Dollar Bar, famous for its 2,032
uncirculated Morgan Silver
Dollars. There is four nights
filled with free music streaming.
With a welcoming staff and
locals always eating a good
meal, it becomes a fun place to
feel the history of Jackson Hole.

This place is fantastic. We

decided to stop on our way back
to Michigan from our road trip
west. Jackson Hole is beautiful.
The Wort Hotel is the ONLY
place anyone should stay in

Program(s)/Tools:

Objectives:

Learn to manage Photoshop layers

Learn to blend images together smoothly, using masks.
Use filters.
Apply appropriate typography.

Process:

I selected the images to place in Photoshop, and then added

a mask. With black paint and a 100% opacity, soft-edge
brush. I painted away the hard image edges. With a larger
brush at 30% opacity and 30% flow, I blended each image
in with the background. I repeated this process with the
multiple images. After, I put type with two contrasting fonts
and I added a drop shadow.

Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple fiels in a zipped folder to attach as one file.

Process:

I created this web page using only TextWrangler. After, I

marked up all my content and inserted my image, I attached a
pre-made CSS document to my HTML. I then used the colors
from my logo as the colors for my web page. I found these
colors by opening Adobe Color CC. I also changed my fonts,
but set a back up font just in case the vewers browser didnt
have these fonts. I also used padding around the logo and
text so that they would not be too cloe to the edge of the web
page.
