Dear
Ms.
Jean
Shaw:
Please
accept
the
enclosed
application
for
a
Junior/Intermediate
teaching
position
with
the
Toronto
District
School
Board.
As
a
teacher,
I
believe
that
I
am
able
to
help
my
students
prepare
academically
and
socially
for
their
futures
as
global
citizens.
I
am
certain
that
with
my
abilities
as
an
educator
and
my
combination
of
experiences
I
will
be
an
asset
to
your
students
education.
My
diverse
teaching
qualifications
and
passion
for
lifelong
learning
is
what
I
believe
would
contribute
positively
to
your
students
educational
and
life
experiences.
The
TDSBs
mission
statement
to
enable
all
students
to
reach
high
levels
of
achievement
aligns
with
my
philosophy
of
teaching.
Teachers
do
more
than
deliver
content
they
foster
academic
success
and
personal
growth
of
their
students.
Acknowledging
socio-cultural,
economic,
linguistic,
and
familial
backgrounds
in
the
classroom
is
instrumental
in
giving
meaning
to
the
curriculum.
Through
station
work
I
promote
a
safe
and
inclusive
learning
environment
where
students
develop
independence
through
choice.
This
strengthens
their
sense
of
community
and
reinforces
values
important
to
the
school
board.
My
inspiration
to
pursue
a
career
in
teaching
began
with
my
enthusiasm
for
lifelong
learning.
I
have
many
volunteer
and
coaching
experiences
that
enhanced
my
love
for
teaching.
Following
graduation,
I
accepted
my
offer
to
pursue
a
Master
of
Teaching
at
OISE.
In
January
2016,
I
accepted
a
position
as
a
supply
teacher
at
Voice
Integrative
School.
This
experience
has
provided
me
with
crucial
exposure
to
global
education,
and
well
as
fundamentals
such
as
differentiated
learning
according
to
student
needs
and
the
curriculum.
Upon
graduation,
I
plan
to
complete
my
Special
Education
Part
1
and
Primary
Division
qualifications
to
become
a
well-rounded
educator
in
the
TDSB.
My
Masters
of
Teaching
research
paper
focuses
on
the
importance
and
implementation
of
proactive
prevention
programs
for
cyber
bullying
built
into
the
curriculum
and
becoming
part
of
the
fabric
of
daily
classroom
learning.
Through
this
study,
I
am
gaining
a
deeper
understanding
of
how
educators
can
positively
be
proactive
rather
than
reactive.
I
have
already
had
the
opportunity
to
implement
what
I
have
learned
to
date
in
my
current
teaching
practice
and
plan
to
continue
to
add
to
my
practice.
My
commitment
to
culturally
responsive
pedagogy,
practicing
equity,
and
creativity
in
content
delivery
would
make
me
a
great
addition
to
the
TDSB
community.
I
bring
a
solid
foundation
in
leadership,
training
and
facilitation
to
this
position.
I
am
confident
that
my
commitment
to
the
success
of
students
with
diverse
social,
cultural,
linguistic
and
academic
backgrounds
will
be
assets
to
your
school
board.
I
appreciate
your
time
and
consideration,
and
look
forward
to
meeting
with
you
to
further
discuss
opportunities
with
your
board.
Please
do
not
hesitate
to
contact
me
at
705-641-1630
if
you
have
any
questions
about
my
application.
Sincerely,
Katherine
Malcolm
