THE PLOT:

(one-eyed)

URANUS hated all of his children, but particularly the monstersand


these he sent to TARTARUS (the underworld)
GAEA asked the TITANS to rescue the monsters but only CRONUS
agreed to helpand he overthrew his father
from URANUS blood came GIANTS (fierce fighters more like
men than Gods) and ERINYES (the furies with serpents for hair and
wings to fly)
CRONUS and RHEA eventually got married!

Cronus, fearing that his children would destroy him, swallowed all of
them but Zeus (who escaped with help from his mother). When Zeus
grew up, he and Rhea waged a war against Cronus.

A LOOOONG battle followed Cronus disgorged his children. Zeus


received help from his brothers and sistersbut also from the
monsters who gave him weapons. Cronus received help from some of
his own brothers and sisters the Titans yet he was defeated by
Zeus.

So - - Zeus divided the world with his brothers and sisters (and himself)
