Describe Characters, setting, and major event in a story.


Specific objectives: (Write 2 specific objectives)

Students should be able to describe the characters in the story, and be able to say
what their part was in the story.

Students should also know the major events of the story.

Smart Board

Reading Analyses Worksheets

The Lorax Online Book

Power Point

Personal White Boards

Markers

Reading Journals

4. Procedure: (Procedure includes the following: step-by-step plan of action with materials,
modeling examples and planned transitions for each activity) Include the following part in your
plan: transition, opening, step-by-step, review, transition
This section of plans usually take up most of the space of lesson plan, often a full page.

Opening- asks the students What are some characteristics of you?

Allow students to give characteristics of themselves.


Discuss with students that books have different characteristics.
Write the words and definitions on Smart board using Microsoft word, and
describe what each term means. Have the students white definitions in personal
reading journal.
Use the smart board to play The Lorax online book.

After finishing the book bring up power point of the story describing the
events, setting, and characters.

While going through power point involve the students by asking them
questions over the story.

Have students write down the setting, characters, and major events of the
story in their personal writing journal.

Read the story to the students, so you can go over the parts of the book while
reading.

Dont forget to bring up online story beforehand to give time to load.
