This document provides a safety data sheet for ethylene oxide sterilization cartridges. It lists ethylene oxide as extremely flammable and reactive. Inhalation may cause burns to the eyes and skin as well as nervous system damage. It is also listed as a potential cancer and reproductive hazard. The document provides first aid measures for inhalation, ingestion, skin contact and eye contact. It outlines protective equipment and disposal procedures for accidental releases. Handling and storage guidelines recommend keeping cartridges tightly closed and stored in a cool dry place at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Water is listed as an appropriate extinguishing media for fires.
