This rubric shows the students growth in their understanding of transition words and timelines.
The students greatly improved from the first assessment on day two. This rubric was developed
from the components on the checklist that the students were allowed to have with them during
their construction of the projects.

I used the following rubric to assess the final opinion writings on day 5. It was also
returned to the students with appropriate feedback.

This graph demonstrates the students growth in in each component of the opinion writing
format. My resource teacher asked that I include the component of the name on the paper
because the classroom has multiple students that forget this and it results in a color change.
The rubric I developed includes each component of the checklist provided for the formative
assessment at the beginning of the year.
