What was the most beneficial activity of the weekend? Why?

- This tough, since the morning of Saturday was outstanding, so was the game Friday night any how it was to
short and when we had time to hangout one another!
- I found the Lego building exercise and debriefing as the most beneficial activity for me.
Not knowing the different leadership styles prior to beginning, was a wonderful way to learn, first hand, the
dynamics of a closed verses open leadership styles.
- Team building through group challenges because of the importance to function as a team.
- Hearing Marli speak. I felt very motivated from her talk. I am excited for fall quarter. I am going to try to
practice more Yes, and.
-Marli's workshop was the most beneficial because it provided me with a range of new ice breakers that I can
bring to my staff meetings. The workshop also helped to allow students to open up to each other and work
with those that they wouldn't normally interact with.
- Engaged with Marli's activities because I learn more about the leadership skills
- Marli's presentation. She was very good at approaching her audience by using multiple
ways by using our senses such as dancing (kinetic), sitting and talking with a person (listening and speaking),
and summarizing the activity by writing.
- The most beneficial activity of the weekend was Marli's presentation on how to interact with your team and
strategies when communicating in a team. Also, the gym activities was very helpful in finding who you are as a
person with others and how you deal with stress around others.
-I thought Marli was phenomenal and really brought the whole weekend together. She addressed issues that
were specific to our campuses and taught us how to think about leadership in a whole new light.
- Being able to know what other leaders are around for help and what their strengths are. This will help me be
able to reach out to others when working on projects. Also I learned some very specific tools for connecting
with the student body that should be my top concern.
- I learned that people want to help and often will go out of their way when you make it a habit to know
them, display that you care about them, and always show that you're present for them.

What was the most challenging activity of the weekend? Why?

- Too short overall I feel like Friday we should be there before lunch. So have more time for ice breakers. And
the challenge course from the camp was sub par and we needed more of a group activity!
- The Lego activity was also the most challenging. I was in the group, that had more
of This mad it difficult for me because it raised my frustration level, and helped me to realize how I act in
tense situations that demonstrate a lack of leadership. This helped me to understand that I can be an
effective leader, in what appears to be a leaderless situation.
- The group challenge to go across using boards. We had some disagreements and different opinions.
- The camp was really run down and the beds were really hard to sleep on. It felt really dirty. The food did not
provide a ton of options. I really did not like the person who led the challenge course. He did not create a
safe space. He kept pointing out what was wrong instead of being positive. He brought the whole team
down. I felt myself, Zack or Katie could have done a better job leading the activities.
- The low-ropes course was the most challenging because of the lack of facilitation by the camp staff. I believe
that the course could have been very successful if the camp staff had stepped in to deliver feedback during
activities and provide alternative solutions or hints to help get the staff through the course.
- build a bridge to island since team was tried at first, then unclear instruction.
- The team building activity by the camp staff. It was very uncomfortable to work with other members because
we were too close and almost touching with each other.

- The most challenging activity of the weekend was island challenge in the forest because everyone has idea
on how to do it as getting from one island to another. But it was bit hard for team members to explain to
other members.
-I was so disappointed by the team building activity. I was looking forward to it, but then it was a big flop. I
wonder if we had someone who was better at facilitating and reading the group if it would have been a
different experience. I thought the facilities didnt really add to the experience. I think it would have been
much more condusive to learning if we went to a place that had a nicer room to meet in.
- The team building activities were stressful and although I'm sure they were originally designed for some kind
of purpose, I felt that purpose was not clearly conveyed. It felt more like a series of torture devices. The
opportunity could have been saved with a good debrief and explanation of what we learned, but we did not
receive that.
-The most challenging activity was the islands activity. We were pushed beyond our comfort zone already by
not getting much sleep the night before and then uncomfortably solving the tarp activity. During the
challenge many people's attitudes showed they were giving up before even starting the activity and some
people that stepped up to lead the solution failed to listen to ideas from others that weren't being pushy. The
fact that we weren't able to solve the activity within the amount of time alotted with our camp berachah
instructor was additionally frustrating. Actually completing a difficult challenge is rewarding in many ways but
it also can change the mood in a frustrated and stressed group.
