Dear parents/guardians,
What an exciting year this will be for your students are seniors! I
am looking forward to spending this year with your student as
their English and Literature teacher. I strive to make learning
fun and engaging. As an educator I encourage students to
do critical thinking and be able to form opinions of their own.
Some other class expectations are that students show up to
class on time prepared and since it is their senior year it is
crucial they dont miss that much school. It is easy to fall
behind in their Senior year, and the curriculum will be more
challenging. This year will be fun but your students should
prepare to do a lot of reading and essay writing. Let the
countdown begin until graduation!

Parent Involvement:
There are many ways to be involved in your daughter or sons
education. Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will be having their
first meeting on September 3rd at 6pm in the school cafeteria. PTA
is always looking for more parents to join and get involved with the
school. For the senior class this year we will be going to a college
fair at the Idaho Western Fair Grounds and we will take a class trip
to Boise State University. We will need four parent chaperones for
each of these trips. If you are interested, please send me email.

your student will make a portfolio of their work on Blogger.
Standards:
This will be a fun year for your students, however they have
expectations to meet for the school and to prepare for after
graduation. As you may know Borah High School is part of the
Common Core program. The Common Core program has set
learning outcomes that your students is anticipated to achieve in
order to graduate in June. To meet the Common Core standards
students must meet the following:
