Live your death

The sound of high heels hit the floor of the most luxurious
shopping mall in town. A woman who is making these sounds is well
known and every people in the shopping mall stare at her while she
walks. Everyone knows her because she is Candice Hermes, the only
daughter of Gerrard Hermes, the current president of the U.S. As she
walks, every pair of eyes is staring at her with jealousy.
As Candice walks in the XXY shop, shes looking for a new bag.
Glad to see you Ms. Candice. What can I help you? the staff
said with pleasure. Shes glad to see a perfect girl like Candice.
Hi! Im looking for a bag today. Do you have any
suggestions? said Candice
I would highly recommend you on that one, The staff said
while she points forward the Alligator limited edition XXY bag.
Candice picks up the bag and looks at it. Actually, she doesnt
really like that bag. She doesnt like any bags in the store at all.
Oh I love it! This one, please. Candice said to the staff. Even
though she doesnt like it but she buys it. She has plenty of money
in her bank. So, to buy one bag she doesnt like is not a big problem,
she thinks. Then, she goes at the counter to pay it.

Candice picks up her credit card from her luxury Fendi bag.
Then she gives it to the staff without thinking about the money. She
doesnt shock about the price of the bag. Actually, she thought she
might have to choose the more expensive one. After she paid for the
bag, she stepped out of the shop.
She is so perfect. I want my life to be as good as her. The staff in
the shop said after she goes.
Candice picks up her phone and call Eddie.
I want to go home now. Come and pick me up within five minutes.
Im waiting, said Candice.
Few minutes later, a big limousine comes in front of her. Then, she
steps on to the car.
Hope you had a great shopping, Madame, said Eddie.
Eddie is a driver who works with Gerrard for a long time.
Theres no wonder if Gerrard trusts him and let him follow Candice
everywhere she goes. He is her fathers right hand bodyguard.
Of course, why not? Candice replied and smiled.
Im sure you have, Eddie replied while he is driving.
I love my life so much, Eddie. I wonder if there will be someday that
I hate my life. Will it happen? She asked Eddie.

now. Shes pretty sure that its her father.
Hi, Sir, Eddie talked on the phone.
Umm Let me think for a while, Eddie acts like he has
something important. Candice thinks that it might be her fathers
big project.
Is that from the bridge construction? Sir, you use just only a
half of the money for the bridge He speaks on the phone seriously.
And how about the amount? If thats too much, it will cause
problems.
Oh! I think we should find the place for exchanging the money to
make other people dont notice about the money. He continued. I
will try to find it as soon as possible before other people catch us.
At this time, Candice couldnt hear what her father said. She
only hears what Eddie responds to him. When Candice tries to listen
what Eddie talks with her dad, he turns his volume down. Candice
annoys about what Eddie is concealing. She waits until Eddie ends
the conversations and asks him what he was talking about.

No theres nothing serious, I swear. Eddie said. He said with
an unpleasant voice. Candice can notice easily that he lies to her.
She starts to get angry.
Tell me Eddie. This time I dont want you to lie, she said
angrily.
Your father wants me to find the place to keep the money.
That money was from the bridge construction project. He use just
only half of the budget and keeps the rest, Eddie said like he
doesnt want to tell Candice about it.
Candice shocks with what Eddie have just told her. She hasnt
known that her father dishonest to the country and his own people.
It is unacceptable for me. I dont want to see my father do
this again, Candice said. Suddenly, her tear falls. She is really sad.
I havent known before that in my life, the money I used was from
the corruption of my father. Other people will look down on me as a
bad girl. They will see me as a fake person. I dont want other
people to look at me like that, Candice said while she is crying. I
want my life to be as perfect as the life I had live since I was born.
Now, theres no such a perfect life left. Candice wipes her tears and
tells to herself she has to do something to stop her father from
doing these dirty things. I dont want to go home anymore. Drive
me to my fathers work place, said Candice.
But replied Eddie.
I said now! Candice shouted with her tears in her eyes.

Candice gets off from the car and quickly steps forward to
Gerrards office. Her high heels make a loud noise as they hit the
ground. Here she comes to the front of her fathers room.
Sorry! Mr.Gerrard is quite busy right now, Madame, the
secretary in front of Gerrards room said to Candice.
I dont mind whether hes busy or not. Let me in! Candice
said angrily.
The secretary is surprising; she hasnt seen Candice angry like
this before. If she doesnt allow her to get in, Candice might get
angrier. She decides to open the door for Candice to get in.
Dad, we have to talk, she spoke loudly. She speaks while
Gerrard is looking at his laptop.
Ok. What is it about, my dear? Gerrard look up at Candice
and smile.
The money, tell me the truth! said Candice.
What about money? Tell me where you get those money
from.
After Gerrard heard that sentence, the surprising face shown
up.
Well, listen to me, said Gerrard.

I did this. I did all of this because of you. I want to make you
to have a good life as much as a father can do for a daughter.
But you try making me to make me dishonest my own
country since I was born. Candice said with guilt.

country. Gerrard continued speaking.
You said you didnt want to do it. But you did, anyway.
I want to see my little daughter happy and comfortable. You
understand me? Trust me and everything will be fine. Gerrard said
while staring at Candice.
I dont want you to do this. I dont want other people to look
at me badly. Now, Im living with guilt and will live with it throughout
my life!
If you dont tell anyone, the secret will be still being secret.
Nothing will happen to you.
Please dad, stop that. You corrupt your own country,
Candice said with an unpleasant voice.
Please, dont care about this that, Candice. Just enjoy your
life and be happy.
I dont want to enjoy my life any more! Candice said with
her tears falling from her eyes.
Then, Eddie comes.
There will be no one except you, me and Eddie that will know
about the money. Do you agree? Gerrard said. Then he turns to
ask Eddie.

me, Madame. We told other people that we have used up all this
money in the bridge construction project, Eddie explained.
But Candice didnt listened.

you to ruin my perfect life. Candice said to her father.
When Candice finished talking, she slapped the door and
walked away. After that day, she and her dad never talked with each
other again.

A week later In the tearoom

Candice is drinking her tea with some scones on the table. She
looks at the garden while she is thinking what she has done to her
father that day.
I shouldnt did that to him. I shouldnt did that to my dad.
Candice talked to herself. Then, she stops and thinking for a while
and continued talking. But how can I do, when my life is not perfect
like before. I want to go back to live my life as before. I dont want to
live my life like this. I dont know how to do if people look down on
me. I dont want to be bad in their eyes, She said with confusion in
her head. Now, theres too much flaws in my life than I could really
accept. She said. Then, her tears are falling down. They fall like
they wont stop from falling. Candice glances around the tearoom.
She sees people are looking at her. Candice picks up the newspaper
near her table to see whats in it. At that time, she receives a phone
call. It was Eddies.
Whats the matter, Eddie?

What! Are you serious? After the call ended, Candice cried
more like everything in the universe was about to collapse. She feels
like shes losing everything in her life.
Oh! Tell me that everything Eddie told me is not true. Hes
just lying. What did I do wrong. Why my dad has to leave me alone
in this big world? Why he has to suicide? Do you really want to
leave me alone, Dad? Or you angry what I have said to you? She
kept talking to herself. And how can I live without the money? Why
does the government have to get all of my fathers money back?
She thought about her money. Legally, all of Gerrards money had to
returned back to the government. Now, theres nothing left. I seem
to be death even Im alive. My life is gone with my fathers life.
Candice step out from the tearoom with emptiness in her
heart. Now, she has nothing left with her. She looks at the sky like
she has died even shes alive. She does not know what to do next.
She just cries and cries.
