The Killing Centers
Deaths of thousand innocent people just because of their race people were murdered.
During the holocaust Herman Goering instructed Reinhardt Hydric (of the SS) to prepare a
comprehensive plan for the ' final solution to the Jewish problem '. The camp would be filled to
the max not only of Jewish people but also people like Gypsies and political enemies, therefore
Hydric create killing centers in 1941. The killing centers had meager affect the number of people
they killed, how they were treated inside the camp and the largest killing center AuschwitzBirkenau.
Killing centers estimates of a vary from between 12 and 18 million, with only about 2.4
million dying in the Killing Centers. Polish scholars estimate conservatively that in these
four camps, 2,000,000 Jews and 52,000 Gypsies, one third of whom were children, were
killed (website 1). In the killing centers they didnt care of your age, they had no remorse to
who they had to murder. The killing centers had their gas vans, their gas chambers, their
crematoria, and their mass graves. Learning from the mistakes at the other three, Nazis
were here able to construct an unusually efficient destruction instrument that managed to
destroy the lives and bodies of 1,000,000 human beings in only twelve months a truly
monstrous carnage (website 1). The equipment they had to get rid of the bodies, they
designed the killing centers for it could be easy for that. Killing centers were created so carefully
that the SS technicians and experts had no precedents on which to rely. Technicians finally

triumphed over the insurmountable difficulties of secretly destroying the lives, bodies, and
possessions of huge numbers of people in a short period of time (website 1). They had
depended on that their original plan would go through. They invented the killing machinery in
the process to kill all those people in such a short period of time. They killed them in an awful
way but they also treated them horribly.
They were treated inside of the killing centers and not knowing when they were going to
be killed. This SS officer then pointed to the left or the right; victims did not know that
individuals were being selected to live or die (website 2). The people would not know when it
was their last. Parents would get chosen one way and their children another; either the parents
would live and their children would be murdered. Usually an SS physician, looked quickly at
each person to decide if he or she was healthy and strong enough for forced labor (website
2). Many times the doctors would move a pregnancy along no matter if its the baby is ready.
The doctors would not care if the baby could die during the process. Prisoners were forced to
haul the corpses to a nearby room, where they removed hair, gold teeth, and fillings
(website 2). Not only did they would murder but they would have to removed part of the people
they had just murdered. Some people might have had to see a family member or friend and still
have to remove their hair, gold teeth and fillings.
The largest killing center is Auschwitz- Birkenau. The Auschwitz concentration camp
complex was not subordinated to the regional SS and police leader, but was part of the
concentration camp system under the SS Economic-Administration Main Office (website
3). Auschwitz-Birkenau was originally designated as a forced-labor camp. Soviet prisoners of
war and, later, Jewish forced laborers to be deployed on SS-inspired construction projects.
Auschwitz-Birkenau developed into a killing center in the first weeks of its existence.

(website 3). Like other concentration camps but in contrast to other killing centers. They were so
ready to kill people. During the deportation of Hungarian Jews in the spring of 1944,
Auschwitz-Birkenau reached peak killing capacity (website 3). At least 865,000 Jews were
killed. They killed more than a million Jews and tens of thousands of Roma, Poles, and Soviet
prisoners of war in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
During the Holocaust they had created Killing Centers which had an effect on how many
people were murdered, how they were treated and Auschwitz-Birkenau the largest killing center.
The killing centers were an awful part of the world history. They were treated horribly. The had
to see their friends and family die.
