Sandra Warren is a courageous voice of moderation in divisive
times. She kept the Danville GOP united and harmonious when
extremist elements tried to steer the party in dangerous directions of brutally slashed government, free market fundamentalism, or pro-life radicalism.
Her leadership exemplifies a determined, forceful leader. If
youve listened to Sandra at any of the meetings around the 5th
District, you know that Sandra makes sure the right people are
on the Danville GOP committee and the wrong people are not.
She identifies the bad elements and makes sure that they are
not welcome. She wont tolerate anyone who would pull the
party in the wrong direction.
Sandra has adamantly fought for primaries and against conventions. As she eloquently answered when questioned about
this subject in Nelson County: Conventions are as bad as Jim
Crow, and we should not be the party that takes away
voting rights.
Right-wing forces viciously attacked Rep.
Robert Hurt in 2014 when he was involved in
slating in the 5th District. Does anyone need
to be reminded that slating was a perfectly
legal and legitimate tactic in the Virginia
GOP? When hard-right and Tea Party extremists savagely criticized Rep. Hurt for his involvement, Sandra Warren bravely stood by
our Congressman. Her loyalty is absolute.
To win in purple Virginia, we must nominate candidates who can run competitively in
liberal northern Virginia. We need moderate candidates who can capture voters in
the middle. We need soothing pastels, not harsh bold colors. Sandra understands.
