Dear Kylie:
On behalf of Brigham Young University-Hawaii, we are pleased to inform you that you have been selected for
admission beginning Fall 2016. You have shown that you are academically prepared, and also committed to
upholding the high standards of the university.
The university is dedicated to preparing graduates whose "influence will be felt for good toward the
establishment of peace internationally." We are confident that you will graduate and contribute to fulfilling this
prophetic mission.
As a recently admitted student, there are some necessary actions you must complete in order to be prepared to
arrive on campus.
1. You will receive a unique access code in an email with the subject line of BYU-H Intent to Enroll that will
allow you to complete the Declaration of Intent to Enroll. Your options on the Intent to Enroll will be to accept,
cancel, or defer your admissions offer due to missionary service. If you do not receive this email within 7 days,
please contact the admissions office at (808)675-3738 or admissions@byuh.edu.
2. Before you can enroll in classes, you must submit your proof of immunization to the BYU-H Health Center.
You can submit a copy of your Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) immunization record by faxing it to 808675-3506, or emailing to mvalent3@byuh.edu. If you cannot get these immunizations done before your come,
they can be completed on campus for a charge of $75 per shot (two shots in the series). The Proof of
Immunization form can be downloaded from our website at
http://admissions.byuh.edu/sites/admissions.byuh.edu/files/State%20Health%20Immunization
%20Requirements%202013%20PDF_0.pdf
You will also need a Tuberculosis (TB) test. If you have received one within the past year, you can send a copy
of the results to the same fax or email above. If you have not had a TB test, you can get it when you come to
campus.
3. Before you arrive on campus, you should make sure that you have secured housing. You can visit the
housing website at http://housing.byuh.edu to stay informed of important deadlines. For instructions on how to
book a room on campus, visit http://housing.byuh.edu/new_faq/hale_check. Please also be aware the you have
to pay the $50 housing processing fee (NON-REFUNDABLE) AND the security deposit fee of $150 (for single
students) by going to: housingportal.byuh.edu. Married students will pay a $300 deposit when they check in.
The security deposit fee may be refunded if when you move out of your dorm room or TVA apartment,
everything is neat and clean and nothing is damaged.
4. To further facilitate your preparation efforts and transition to come to campus, please visit our new student
checklist at http://admissions.byuh.edu/Instructions. Be sure to click on your appropriate admit type. For
additional information about BYU-Hawaii campus services, you may also click on University Services.
Given the unique mission of BYU-Hawaii and the need to serve more students, the University has adopted a
policy that all students will be given up to 9 semesters in residence at BYU-Hawaii (or fewer for transfer
students) to complete their desired degree. More information on this policy can be found at
https://catalog.byuh.edu/sir.
As a reminder, all applicants should include their BYUH username and all current or former students should
include their BYUH 7-digit student number in ALL correspondence. This will assist in a speedier and more
accurate reply.

We wish you every success in your educational efforts and look forward to seeing you on campus. Please
contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Brigham Young University-Hawaii Admissions Committee
