ActivityOne:
Studentswillcreateapondtodevelopobservationsaboutasmallecosystem.Todothisthey
aregoingtohaveaccesstosoil,hay,deadleaves,gravel,water,motoroil,duckweed,anda
blackworm.Eachgroupofsixstudentswilldecidewhattheywouldliketoaddtotheirpondandin
whatquantity.Therewillbesomesuggestionsaboutgravelandsoilamountsduetothematerials
available,buteachgroupwillhavetochoosewhattheywouldliketoadd.Oncethestudentshave
madetheirpondstheywilldrawanddescribewhattheyhavedone.Todothistheywillusethesheet
thatislistedbelow.Theobservationswillbeonamacrolevel,besidesthesmallcirclethatisused
fordrawingaduckweedsampleunderamagnificationof100x.
