-I Have A Dream Speech- Students will have to create their own I have
a dream speech. We will discuss MLK during class and the students are
free write what their dream is as long as its school appropriate
-Jackie Robinson Fan Letter- Students will have learned about Jackie
Robinson and his contributions to our culture. Students will then write
a fan letter to Jackie Robinson telling him how they feel about him
playing baseball, and all of his contributions he made to the African
American society.

Inventions- Lesson 4
Students will construct 1 of the two of Garrett Morgans inventions
discussed in class. The students will be put into small groups to create
this invention the students will then have to create step by step
instructions, so if a peer wanted to create their invention they could.
The students will then present their invention projects to the class.

Journal entries will be turned in at the end of the unit.


Journals will be kept throughout the unit. The students are to write
down the essential questions for the particular lesson. This is to be
completed either for homework, or f they finish the in class activity
they are free to work on their journals. The students will get points for
just completing the journal then getting points for the questions
answered.
