Thislessonwentverywell.Thiswasthesecondtimecompletingthislessonanditturnedouttobemoresuccessfulthanthefirsttime.WhatIdiddifferentlythistimewasthatwe
retaughtcompositionandessentialelementsbeforewestartedtheproject.Thatwaystudentshadanideaofhowtoarrangetheirnatureobjectsandcompositions,andwhat
techniquestousetobettertheirproject.Majorityofthestudentscompletedtheobjectivestothefullestability,somestudentsstillstrugglewithcreatinganinterestingcomposition
usingthreenatureobjects.Thestudentsareverycreativeandgettingthemtodrawfromdirectobservationwasextremelychallengingforthem.Theystruggledwithrecording
whattheysawandnotaddinginventedaspectstotheirdrawings.Isplitthecritiqueupintotwodayssotheydidnotgetwornoutofwritingrightaway.Thefirstdaythestudents
selfassessedwhichwasverysuccessfulandbeneficial.Daytwothestudentscompletedapeercritiquewhichallowedthemtowrite,discuss,andcritiquetheotherclassmates
workaroundthem.Thiswasagoodwayformetoseewhichstudentsreallyexceledandalsoconnectedwiththeproject.Majorityofthestudentsplacedinthe8094percentile,
withafewfallingattheaveragemarkandbelow.Studentswhowereaverageorbelowdidnotfollowdirections,didnotusetheirtimewisely,ordidnotfullycompletetheproject
toitsobjectivesandguidelines.
