Hello Everyone!
A Quote to Live By
Steve Jobs, a very intelligent and wise man
once said, Your time is limited, so dont
waste it living someone elses life. This
quote speaks so many words in todays
society. I think that as we journey through
our path, it is important to remember to be
ourselves in all that we set out to do.

My Favorite Subject
My favorite subject in school would have to
be music. It was a class that was so different
from every other classroom setting and
style. Throughout my secondary education, I
had dreamed of pursuing a career in musical
theatre so I took every music class possible.
I went on to study musical theatre at Clarion
University and just thought that I could do
so much more. Music really helped me
express myself and think. Plus, the teacher
was always a lot of fun as everything was
turned into a song and dance.
My Advice to You
My advice to you as a young learner with so
much to look forward to, is to embrace
change. At this point, you may have a dream
that you are working towards, but at some
point that dream may change, but it may not
either. Either way, embrace the journey and
take everything in. All the knowledge that
you gain along the way will help you in
becoming a well-rounded learner.
Remember, you are always learning, as am
I. Embrace change and follow your dreams.

Summary Sheet
Monday Project Lab- February 1, 2016
1. Purpose- The purpose of this newsletter is to introduce myself to my new student(s) in
which I will be working with during the semester. I wanted them to get an understanding
of who I am so that I could learn more about who they are. I wish that I would have
received this advice when I was in school. This newsletter gives not only the students, but
the families as well an opportunity to gain insight of the students work with me. In
general, the newsletter is a way for me to develop communication between myself and
the students and their families.
2. Audience- This newsletter is meant for the audience of the students as well as their
families. The age range will vary for this particular group. The students will range from
ages five to ten. The families of the children will range from 18-99 years of age.
3. Type Faces- In the paragraphs, Times New Roman, a serif font, is used in sixe 12 point
font. The display names are typed in a 14 point font in Impact, a sans serif font. Word Art
is used for the name plate in the newsletter.
4. DTP Design PrinciplesDominant Element- The dominant element in the newsletter is the image of the dancer
found in the first section titled, Hello Everyone!
Legibility- The text throughout the newsletter is clear and easy to read. The text is typed
in basic fonts and is in the standard 12 and 14 point font sizes.
Alignment- The headings and text all have the same left alignment in their designated
columns. The date is aligned with a left tab and the volume number is aligned with a right
tab. The name plate is center aligned.
Grouping- All of the text throughout the newsletter are grouped with their specified
headings. For example, information about myself is under the Hello Everyone section.
Information about my favorite subject is under the heading of My Favorite Subject.
Balance- The newsletter that I have created is formally balanced because both columns
are of equal width.
Unity- The format throughout the newsletter is consistent. The space between the
headings and the text are the same throughout as well as the space between each
grouping. All of the elements are within the margins and are the same text.
